Über die Universität:
I chose the Hogeschool Rotterdam because it has a very good reputation and offers the logistics courses I wanted to take.
The Hogeschool Rotterdam is spread over the whole city; the location I was at was next to the Euromast and the port, but besides that there is not much going on in that part of Rotterdam.
I took the minor Supply Chain Management (SCM) which was attended by students from all over the Netherlands and about 15 exchange students. The lecturers are competent in what they do. However, there were often sudden changes in the courses and requirements. Also it was a huge amount of work to do for each course (e.g. for 4 ECTS: one presentation, 2 reports and one exam). So we did not really have a lot of spare time and still were not able to get good grades.

Betreuung vor Ort:
The support from the Hogeschool staff was pretty good, we could always email them and they were willing to help. Still, there was very often a lack of communication between the staff. Except for the accomodation, there was not much the exchange students had to organize.
During the stay, I was living in a student residence which is working together with the Hogeschool. There is an application pool where one has to apply within the first hours, because the number of rooms in the three student housings is limited. The cost for the accommodation ranges from 350 to 570 euros per month.

Tipps:
If you want to gain a lot of knowledge in the topics related to Supply Chain Management, this course is the right one. It is also doable with little prior knowledge. But if you want to have some free time, and do not want to study like crazy each day and still return with bad grades, I advise you to not take this minor. This applies only for the minor I took; I have heard from other students who have decided for other programmes that they had less work and good grades.
I can definitely recommend to study in the Netherlands, as the people there are so friendly and most of them speak English very well.
